The Ballad of Loco Oh No

Boys in the game.

Bangkok nights.  No shame.

One might come or go.

Still twas on with the show.

The other three were steady.

For the night, quick and ready.

Then came the one.

The spirit of Ono.

The end of the night.

No morning, just haze

The unholy roller.

An emotional craze

Misery she bears

Like a plague, she infects

The curse that she shares

Fearing love, she rejects

Relishing pain

Forever envious of the joys

That others will gain

Ain’t Afraid to Die

I ain’t afraid to die.  Don’t wanna live forever

9to 5 don’t appeal to me.  Don’t want life in a suburban trap

Out in the wildlands life just feels more vital.

Afghanistan

Cambodia

Bangkok and Saigon

Eternity ain’t no desk and damn sure ain’t no corporate bonus

I don’t want to live forever, though, ain’t in no rush to die

Don’t want a walker.  No wheelchair or hospital bed for me at 80.

I’d rather go out in a blast.  I’ll take the bang at the end of the day.

America, the land of drones.  Slaving away for a corporate buck.

That life ain’t no way to live.  Security, the tool of enslavement.

Homeland insecurity is the key.

I don’t wanna live forever nor do I want to be a slave.

I’d rather live and die.

Hang On While Ya Can

Rollin’ through to fifty

The end becomes more clear

Rollin’ through a life time

I don’t care when it comes

Not afraid of dying

Nothing to fear in the end

I’d love to live forever

But only in the mind

A body can take so much ya know

And come to end so swift

Take care, be healthy, Why?

No one comes to it intact

Work from Nine to Five

Gather a lifetime of trinkets

Push on through to the big Six-Oh!

If luck is with you

You don’t go too far

You can still remember your name

Slow on to the 80s

Hangin’ on to life

I’d rather go out quickly

With beauty still and vital

Push too far you go insane

You never know it though

Life began at thirty

You get a good few years

But the doctors and Big Brother

They want you to kick around

Taxes and insurance

That’s why we push for more

Think it’s for your life

Guess again, think again, revolt

Push on through?

I don’t think so

Break on through instead

The other side is calling

Mystery and myst it seems

Yet it draws us back, I know not why or how

The American Dream, the life fandango, to boogie with a kid

We are bedazzled by the blind

I don’t want to live forever

Death is not my enemy

But I’ll hang on while I can
