It is past time to leave.
Donald Trump should fulfill this pledge and get us out. Declare Victory and Leave,
Sheila Jackson Lee wants to redefine or refine the Iraq Era AUMF. I’m all for it. I only wish she’d have felt that way before they voted on the original authorization, during the Bush Administration or during the Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton reign of terror across the Middle East and the entry of the United States into Ukraine.
While we’re at it, refine the role of the United States in Europe. Explain and define the US role in NATO. One of these intelligent people must be able to explain to me why the 44 nations of Europe need the United States of America to defend them from Russia and/or each other. What, now, is the purpose of NATO? The only reason that I can see for its existence is to sell war and weapons to weak Eastern European pawns as we put the newest Red Scare on them and each other. I suppose if we push the Putin boogie man successfully enough, Raytheon, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, General Dynamics and a few other select arms maker can become more fabulously wealthy and their lobbyist can spread more cash to the criminals in Congress.
- PTSD would explain quite a bit about Omar.
- Refugees often suffer from some form of PTSD.
- If Omar suffers from PTSD she is not fit for office. She is mentally not stable enough to represent her constituents.
- No President should have the ability to war with impunity.
- It is unfortunate that these “brave” democrats didn’t build up their courage and confront Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on their war mongering. Instead, they defended them. See Benghazi.
- Trump is simply a President. Judge him on his actions and his policies. Individually and singly.
- Perpetual War is no good thing regardless of who is waging it. The Deep State, the Republicans or the Democrats. It should be discouraged. Perpetual war, like political correctness, censorship and cancel culture, etc, will lead to the destruction of this Republic.
These are partisan statements. If there were a Democrat acting against Iran, these “courageous” women would remain silent or support that Democrat.
Partisanship via political party is an act of Treason.
We are Americans first. Democrats, Republicans, etc somewhere down the line.
I celebrated the death of Qassim Soleimani. The man was evil. He wanted to spread the wretched Shi’a Islamic Revolution of the decrepit old Khomeini all over the Islamic World. Good riddance.
That doesn’t mean that I want or support perpetual war.
America should pull out of Europe and the Middle East. They’re both full of shithole countries that do nothing but murder, oppress and hate. That is especially true of Europe.
It is time for Europe to defend herself. Bring US troops home. Europe can afford it. They can cut back some of those entitlements.
Apparently, if one is famous one can issue actual threats of violence and death in Twitter.com.
If one is not so famous, one must kowtow to the fascist dictatorship of Jack Dorsey and his minions.
My account at Twitter was suspended because I told the totalitarian turds in power in Iran that I hoped that they were next. Dorsey loves his mass murderers, dictators, religious fascists and terror lords. Dorsey hates freedom of expression.
Dorsey should move to Iran or China. He will fit right in.
May he burn in the Islamic Hell.
This is the opportunity of a millennia.
Donald Trump, don’t argue with them. Let’s get out.
Pull out all US forces from Iraq and Syria.
It’s time for Iraq to put on their big boy drawers and run their own Nation.
It will fall apart and, eventually, a dictator will emerge.
Pull the US military out and let nature run her course.
Soleimani was instrumental in several key events of the past 4 decades. He was instrumental in the Hezbollah takeover of Lebanon. He assisted Hezbollah in their political defeat of Israel in Lebanon. He was a major orchestrator of Shi’a militias in Iraq and insurgents in Afghanistan during the current Global War On Terror. I know we’re not supposed to call it that anymore. Nonetheless, that war on ideology is more global now than when Obama went full PC and forced the name change.
Soleimani has been a thorn in the side of the West for decades.
But why is the West still treading paths that lead them to that thorn.
Why is the West incessantly meddling in the Middle East? Why have US political leaders from FDR to Dwight David Eisenhower to Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush, his father and Barack Obama kept the US in the Middle East. Why have we interposed ourselves within the Shi’a-Sunni divide. Why are we constantly involved in regime change in Islamic countries?
We’ve been meddling there since World War I. We have supported, thanks to the British and French, the creation of several Frankenstein monster States. Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Syria and Israel to name a few. None of these States are stable. None can exist without outside support and interference. Saudi Arabia, Israel and Iraq have been on the British or US teat since their creation. Syria and Algeria would in no way exist without having been colonial creations of the French. Certainly, they’ve operated independently for decades. Yet, they always run to the West when they, again, run into trouble.
All of these Middle Eastern nations, excepting possibly Israel, are controlled by despotic regimes. The people of these States have no real conception of being a nationality. Instead, they are a conglomeration of tribes, ethnicities, religions and mutated cultures mashed together for political expediency. And, one might cynically say, so that they can never unite and become a real Nation State for that was never the intent of the West.
The West has always understood that a united Islam or a united Middle East would be a threat. Though, I’m not certain that the political leaders of Western Europe retain this knowledge. Possibly, they do and have a death wish which is why they have allowed such open migration of Islamic masses to the shores of Europe.
Soleimani wanted the West out. He wanted Iran to fill that power vacuum.
Saudi Arabia stands in his way as does Israel.
Why is America standing between this inevitable showdown? Why did we remove Saddam Hussein who was the only man standing between that showdown?
Removing Saddam was a mistake.
Every foreign policy decision stemming from that mistake has been a mistake.
Now that Saddam is gone. Only Saudi Arabia can confront Iran. If Israel does so, it would unite the Sunni and Shi’a against Israel because Muslims will alway stand together against “the infidel” or kuffar.
Why is the US still meddling when we should be using Saudi Arabia as a proxy. We should still be using Saddam as a proxy.
Us troops should never have been re-introduced to the Middle East after Beirut. It was a mistake then. It was a mistake in 1990. It was a mistake in 2003. It is a mistake now. There is no end to the blood feud between the Shi’a and Sunni short of the destruction of Islam. There is no end to the Arab-Israeli conflict short of the complete destruction of Israel or Islamic unity. Likewise, there will never be an end to religious persecutions in the Middle East. Not even the complete destruction of Islam will accomplish this. Christians have always done the same and would simply pick up the persecution mantle if they replaced Islam.
Soleimani was a key figure in all of those conflicts. He would have continued to be a key figure in all of those conflicts.
Soleimani was instrumental in killing Americans and other Westerners in the Middle East and anywhere Shi’a terrorist plied their trade. He would have continued to kill if he had lived.
Trump, in my opinion, made the realistic decision. He ordered the killing of a successful leader of the enemies of the West. He should do so again if given the opportunity.
I do not believe that Iran has the courage to “go to war” with the US. They’ll talk a good game. They’ll attack some targets. They would have anyway. The conflict will go on.
The United States should not commit to regime change in Iran.
If Iran does strike out at the US, I would be for bombing Qom and killing Ayatollah Khamenai. I would not be for invasion. I would be for punitive incursion. Lightning quick strikes inside Iran at key targets. In and out. Never invasion.
The United States cannot afford to be fearful of spilling the blood of our enemies.
If we are going to remain committed to being World Police. We should be committed to taking out the enemy wherever he or she might lie in hiding. Kill them. Destroy their will to fight. Sanctions will not accomplish much. To destroy the will to fight, we have to make it incomprehensible for the enemy to go on. They have to believe that the United States will do everything and anything that it takes to win.
If we aren’t willing to do that, we should bring the troops home.
I believe that we should bring our troops home.
We should disband NATO. We should leave Europe.
We should become a nation of merchants…with a scorpion’s tail. Trade with us in peace. Attack us and die.
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.
I don’t think the US needs a plan to defeat ISIS.
Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Iran all need a plan to defeat ISIS.
We should let them take the lead. The onus for the fall of ISIS should be on them.
Only when they have taken the lead and committed forces should the US provide support.
The initiative and the majority of forces and funding should come from Saudi Arabia.
The US is not truly threatened by ISIS. We are only threatened in so far as we allow that threat to come to our shores. We are only threatened in so far as our proximity to ISIS.
ISIS is no existential threat to the United States of America.
I don’t care who is in charge of the Middle East. ISIS and Saudi Arabia are two of a kind. If ISIS were to gain the upper hand and defeat the Saudis, we would treat with ISIS in the same way that we treat with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia and ISIS are the same evil. They are the same immoral, uncivilized, hyper-religious form of scum.
If ISIS were to win, eventually, they would calm down and realize that they needed to do business with the West. The radicals only hold onto power for a generation or so.
The US Supreme Court has ruled that Americans can sue Nations such as Iran over terrorist acts that may or may not have been supported by those Nations. There is a ruling about to be decided upon currently concerning Saudi Arabia. These are extremely dangerous rulings that could set precedent that place Americans in danger across the Globe. I would love to see any and every avenue taken to bring Saudi Arabia down. The House of Saud is a great evil and are responsible for 90% of Islamic Terrorism across the Planet. If Saudi Arabia and its Wahhabi Death Cult could be crushed, much of the unrest and division between Muslims and other people across the world could be arrested and turned around. With Saudi Wahhabis funding global terrorist groups, terrorism and groups such as al Qaeda and ISIS will continue to rise and wreak havoc and sow division everywhere.
American Foreign Policy has place the US Military around the globe “combatting” terrorism. Our strategies, tactics, techniques and procedures are not always on solid footing with International Norms. Strictly speaking, much of what we do would be illegal in a International Criminal Court. Our Soldiers and Leaders are placed at risk because of these rulings. Now, I have no problem with politicians such as Barack Obama or George Bush being held to account for their illegal, inhumane and downright evil acts. My issue is that Joe the Private or Sam the Colonel might be renditioned whilst on vacation in the Bahamas. A US Citizen might be held and extradited to Iran, France or Syria for prosecution for breaking Iranian, French or Syrian law. We do it. Why could they not follow suit?
What if the people of Pakistan, Syria,Iran, Guatemala, Iraq, Afghanistan took this to its logical conclusion? Each of those nations could sue us for terrorism and mass murder. We have bombed the hell out of those places. We have indiscriminately targeted “military aged males.” One need not be guilty of anything more than being in a cricket club to be bombed by our drones and missiles. We have made this more than obvious. We have publicly stated the “military aged males” targeting. We have bombed civilians for no other reason than they were in the same general area as suspected terrorists.
If Citizens of the US can sue those governments for their crimes then Citizens of other nations can sue our government for crimes we have committed even if we will never admit that they are crimes. SECDEF Gates warned against this. He called it “Lawfare.” Our military members and civilians could be targeted for rendition and extradition by other nations. Our politicians could be targeted.
This smacks of lunacy, idiocy and a lack of comprehension of International Law and Treaty. I fully expect stupidity from the American People. Congress and SCOTUS should know better.
The Federal Government has oppressed and chased many groups around America and the World. We enslaved millions of Africans and then oppressed them for 100 plus more years with Jim Crow and other depredations. We had the Mormon Wars. We had the Philippine Wars. We took Hawaii against the wishes of her peoples. We forced our dictator of choice on Guatemala and several other Nations in South America. We deposed Mossadegh and installed the despot, impotentate Shah. We have all but forced the House of Saud on the people of Saudi Arabia. We forced petty slobs on the people of South Vietnam and assassinated them when they wouldn’t toe our line. We supported Noriega until he developed an independent streak and only then decided that his drug business was criminal. And then there is the 100 plus year genocide of the American Indian that lasted into the 20th Century and in some ways continues still.
I’m not certain why folks place so much faith in a government that has failed morally time and time again. We are failing morally now in the Wars on Terror and Drugs. Yet, Democrats and Republicans swear that this time it will be different.
From where does this misplaced trust in our government spring.
Study real history and ask yourself? Did the “American Century” really make the world a better place or did it simply sustain American Power and Corporate Opportunity?
Certainly, we project power and open markets. We have also caused instability throughout the Middle East. We have supported petty impotentates across the world. Not only have we supported them, we have installed them and aided in the murder of the democratic opposition at the behest of Corporate entities such as United Fruits, Big Oil and others. Is this a moral stance?
I think not.
Where is the shining city on the hill with which Reagan mesmerized America? The people of the world grow more desperate as America’s multinational corporations and banks grow more powerful.
Various Leftist & Liberals are all abuzz about White People shouting “White Power” at the latest Trump Rally.
Who will lead America through this storm? Can a President Trump do so? I have no faith in any of the establishment Politicians.
I’m of the opinion that Trump can do no worse than a Bush or a Clinton. I’d prefer Trump with a Vice President Paul, though.
1. Saudi Arabia
8. Muslim Brotherhood
9. Puppets of #s 4 and 7
12. Remaining ME/CA Islamic Nations.
13. Everyone else.
Saudi Arabia exports more terrorism in the form of its decrepit Wahhabi creed than all of the others combined.
Iran is a chia pet by comparison.
The Great Triumvirate of the United States of America, China and Russia have terrorized the world with impunity since the close of the Second World War.
France, the UK and Germany are all too willing accomplices to any and every US adventure that comes down the pike.
Iran selectively defends the Shi’a community via the IRG and the Party of God (Hezbollah). They imported Hezbollah to Lebanon. They support factions inside of Saudi Arabia, the Houthis in Yemen as well as other places. Iran will also selectively support Sunni terrorists otherwise known as Wahhabist Saudi Arabian created scum as suits their needs.
Israel terrorizes the Palestinians and occasionally Southern Lebanon. Israel has attacked nations such as Iraq and Iran preemptively.
The Palestinians terrorize Israel and their own people. The Palestinians attempted to depose the King of Jordan. They’ve also raised a bit of hell in Lebanon and Egypt. There is also the actions of the PLO under Arafat and assorted other madmen.
The other nations of the Middle East and Central Asia mostly terrorize their own people. Only occasionally sending out State sponsored Wahhabists and assorted other misfits to further their political ends.
Pakistan created the Taliban out of the anti-Soviet Insurgency, orphans from that war and the Wahhabist Madrassahs that were established by the Saudis. They were established, equipped and used as a hedge against Indian influence in Afghanistan and as well as a buffer against Iranian influence.
Yes, the world is fucked up.
So you would have fought during World War II but not Nam, Korea or Iraq and Afghanistan.
Why did Japan attack Pearl Harbor?
Britain and France declared war on Germany because Germany invaded Poland. That was the pretense at any rate.
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor after America had engaged in a systematic effort to deny the Empire of Japan the resources necessary to build their Nation and Empire.
By the end of World War II, Poland and all of Eastern Europe was in the hands of a greater evil than Hitler could ever have hoped to represent. That evil being the Soviet Union.
Soviet Communism which later morphed into Maoist Communism took China.
Communism also swept through Southeast Asia.
The end result of World War II was that the West fought Japan and Germany in order to hand over their Empires to the Soviet Union.
World War II was a direct cause of the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War and attributed to the rise of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is the cause of 90% of the Islamic Fundamentalism on this Globe. Islamic Fundamentalism is the root of Islamic Terrorism.
If there were no Saudi Arabia, there would exist no taliban, no ISIS, no al Qaeda, no Khorasan and so on and so forth.
Fundamentalist Shi’a Iran can also be traced to poor decision making based on the the Cold War anti-Communist paranoia that haunted the West from 1945 through the end of the Soviet Union circa 1991.
The Arab-Israeli Conflict can be traced back to World Wars 1 and 2.
World War II also gave us the CIA and the NSA via Cold War paranoia.
You can research any and all of this with a simple google search.
I’m not seeing how World War II was “the good war.” It was an asinine war prompted by the American Banking conglomeration.
World War II was not the good war. It was a war like any other only on a global scale. It put the globe to the flame and destroyed millions of lives and billions of dollars of property.
America profited from the outcome immensely which drove our recovery out of the Great Depression and into the boom years of the 50s and 60s.
It was as much an elective war for the United States of America as Polk’s Mexican War or LBJ’s Vietnam War or Bush’s Iraq War or Obama’s wars in Yemen, Pakistan and Somalia.
On the Middle East. Much of the violence in the Middle East can be directly traced to actions of outside interlopers since World War 1.
The Brits worked to place the Saudis in power after World War 1. America acted in concert with others to empower the House of Saud during and after World War II.
The Saudis are Wahhabis. The State Religion of Saudi Arabia is Wahhabist Islam. The Muslim Brotherhood is a Wahhabist Movement. Al Qaeda, al Jihad, ISIS and every other extremist Sunni Islamic organizations traces it’s origins to the Muslim Brotherhood and/or directly to the preachings of al Wahhab.
We created the beast which spawned the demons whom we fight in the War on Terror.
In the 50s, Kermit Roosevelt was sent by Ike and the Dulles Bros, at the behest of Britain and Anthony Eden, to depose Mossadegh who was Prime Minister of Iran. Mossadegh was deposed. The Shah was placed on the Peacock Throne of Iran by Kermit Roosevelt.
The Shah used his Savak to terrorize the people of Iran. He exiled Khomeini.
Carter weakened the Shah some 25 or 30 years later by speaking to Human Rights and withdrawing support.
Khomeini and his revolution are the progenitors of all Shi’a extremism. Khomeini and his Iranian Revolutionary Guards created Hezbollah.
No Kermit, no Shah. No Shah, no Khomeini. No Khomeini, no IRG. No IRG, no Hezbollah.
Vietnam plays a role here as well. Prior to Vietnam (and Iran), the US was seen as a champion of the downtrodden and a revolutionary victor over Colonialism.
After Vietnam, we became a colonial oppressor.
Cuba plays a role here as well. We attempted to deny Cuba self determination.
The US is no longer a champion of the oppressed people’s of Colonialism by our own actions. Instead, we are merely actors for Big Banks and Big Corporations.
This is how we are seen, with great justification, by much of the world.
Much of the terrorism aimed at us is directly attributable to our support of dictators and despots throughout the Middle East and Asia.
ISIS, al Qaeda and other Islamic Organizations feel that in order to take power from the House of Saud and other despotic regimes that they must attack us. We are the primary support for the Saudis and other despots. We have supported nearly every Sunni despot extant.
We supported Saddam before we deposed him. We gave him his initial batch of nerve agents and gave him the means to develop more. Then we used possession of these as rationale for attacking him.
We did the same thing to Noriega. As long as he was our man, we turned a blind eye to his drug trafficking. As soon as he decided that he wanted to go his own way, we defamed him and attacked him. I’ve read widely that the CIA actually assisted in his drug trafficking and money laundering before we turned on him.
The Middle East is a mess partially because the West disbanded the Ottoman Empire, partially because of the idiot Sukes-Picot agreement, partially because of oil profits, and partially because of the Sunni-Shi’a divide.
America has always pushed a divide and conquer agenda on the Middle East.
Now, we complain that they are divided and can’t or won’t come together.
If the Middle East were to come together as in the old days of the Qaliphate, does anyone think that they would do otherwise than what ISIS claims as a goal?
People complaining about American conquest and treatment of the “Native American,” PLEASE! Just stop. This is the history of mankind. Only since World War II have we stopped the conquest and taking of land for ourselves.
I believe Israel (67), China (50s/Tibet) and Pakistan (Balochistan/49 to present day) are the last nations to take lands via conquest. Iraq tried it in the 80s but were immediately expelled by Iran. Lebanon is currently being occupied by Hezbollah which is tantamount to Iranian occupation.
Both China and Pakistan are currently and have been in contention with India over territories. China is starting to stake claims in territories that are currently in possession of nations such as Japan and the Philippines.
Pakistan and Afghanistan are in contention over the Durand Line.
Mexico and America are having extreme border issues.
Scotland wants to opt out of the UK.
The Kurds want their own nation with inclusion of territory currently possessed/claimed by Turkey, Iran and Iraq.
Iran will start making claims soon on lands occupied by the Russians.
ISIS is currently taking lands via conquest that were Syrian and Iraqi. If they grow powerful enough, they will turn towards Mekkah and possibly Iran. They’ll leave Israel for later.
Of course, there is Israel. They occupy the West Bank and Gaza as well as maintain control over an “autonomous” Arab/Islamic thugocracy in Gaza. They’ve occupy lands that are claimed by Syria as well.
I see occurring more and more in the near future conflicts over territory as the World grows more politically chaotic.
Without looking it up, I believe that the last time that America took lands by conquest was at the conclusion of the Spanish American War when we were “given” the Philippines, Guam, Wake Island, etc.
Basically, the Colonists or White Man, as labelled by Western Liberals, did nothing that the Indians (Native or aboriginal) Americans had not done themselves. There were Empires and Kingdoms in the Americas prior to the advent of European “exploration,” conquest and colonization of the Americas.
The Aztecs, Incans, Mayans, Anasazi, Pueblo and every other tribe, confederation and/or “State” in the Americas did not spring up out of the earth in the exact spot where they became the dominant political entity. They took those lands from others.
In my opinion, gnashing one’s teeth over the “sins” of others which you yourself have committed is a bit hypocritical.
That said, I look to see more conquest in the future as liberalism and the touchy feely politics of America and Western Europe recedes with the fall from influence brought on by our liberalism and “guilt” in general, and the waning of our economic superpower status due to the rise of China, India and the conflicts with Russia and Iran as well as the negative impacts of our constant and consistent incompetent meddling throughout the world. America is overreaching and it is going to hurt us in the near future. With idiot leaders such as Bush and Obama, I see nothing changing and our path is clear and downward in a dizzying spiral.
The primary power of the globe for these past 70 years has been the “petrodollar.” Russian, Iran, Scotland (if she separates successfully) as well as Venezuela are willing and even eager to sell their natural resources in other currencies as well as through a barter system. This is the center of the conflicts evolving between the US and these nations.
If Scotland successfully secedes from the UK AND decides to go off the reservation (petrodollar), look for the US to start pressuring them and calling them rogue, etc.
Once America loses the petrodollar hegemony, all bets are off. We will see a much more chaotic world.
Personally, I am very much looking forward to it.
Imagine a war between a nuclear Saudi Arabia led Gulf confederation against a nuclear levant centered Iran.
Pakistan and India going at it with Nukes.
Russia is already threatening the use of nukes over Ukraine.
We can whine about the past all we want. That past will be nothing compared to the next 100 years. As resources grow scarce, this world is going to go insane. In the end, I believe that Western Liberalism will achieve it’s end. However, the unintended consequences will be their own annihilation as “barbarian” tribes rise up and murder them in their self-righteous and contented sleep. The world will be in flames in the next 100 years. This is not new to history. All great Empires fall. China and Rome fell in such a manner. When a people lose their ability to fight, their will to fight, their survival instincts, the end is not far off. Liberals have no will to fight and nothing in which they believe. The highest ideal of the Western Liberal is the loathing of his/her own culture. Doom shall surely follow.
Iran: Religious Leaders offer pre-approved candidates for whom the people of Iran are allowed to vote. One of these (usually two) pre-approved candidates are elected to do the bidding of the true leaders of the Nation.
America: Corporate (Religious) Leaders offer pre-approved candidates for whom the people of America are allowed to vote. One of these (usually two) pre-approved candidates are elected to do the bidding of the true leaders of the Nation.
“I am not sure in what way even limited strikes help the people living in my constituency: how does this further Britain’s or America’s national security?
“There cannot be a sane person in Britain who would not think it a good thing for us to get involved in the war in Syria if by doing so it would ease the horrors faced by the Syrian people – and dire risks to people in neighbouring countries.
“We must be guided not by our alliance to America, but by our duty to understand that military force should only be used in support of a clear purpose and with a clear objective in mind – in support of our national interest. I am yet to be convinced that there is a strong and clear-cut case that military action will deter the Syrian government from using chemical weapons – nor am I convinced that in 20 years time some other tyrant thinking of using chemical weapons will turn around and say to his or herself “Whoops, better not do that: remember what Obama, Cameron and Hollande did back in the summer of 2013”.
“The use of chemical weapons was indeed a crime against all of humanity. But by firing one missile we are involving ourselves in a civil war on the side of a fractured opposition which includes people with proud links to Al Qaeda. By striking now, without clear cause and purpose, we risk consequences that we have not even thought of: this is a case of hit – and then hope.”
British MP Adam Holloway
I don’t want to go to war with Iran. I don’t want the US to invade and occupy. Not really.
There is, however, a part of me that would absolutely love to see the US Military roll in and annihilate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
As long as we rolled in, blasted the pieces of shit and then rolled out. I’m talking decimation. Leave a trail of destruction from Bandar-e Abbas to Teheran and then down to Shiraz and out through Bushehr with a small incursion to destroy Qom leaving not a stone standing upon the other in our wake.
Total decimation of the Iranian Military. Collateral damage be damned. Warn the people of Iran. “If you are seen, you are a target.”
While we’re at it, we can take out the whole damn Iranian “navy.”
Then un-ass the AO.
Maybe that will knock some sense into some of the people of Iran. Perhaps, they’ll actually get the courage to rise up and take back their civilization from the superstitious stooges who have held them hostage since the failed revolution of 1979. The revolution that Khomeini stole with the help of his myth makers.
It would seem that war with Iran may be inevitable. The Political Leaders of the World and the UN seem to want it. Why is America enmeshed in this oil war? We do not purchase oil from Iran. We have nothing to gain from a conflict with Iran and much to lose. If we do join in a physical conflict with Iran, in no way should we bear the cost of such a war. Nor should we put forth the manpower or primary land forces for an invasion. I would have no problem with supporting other nations with Air Power. That said, the powers that desire this war should use their political and diplomatic capital to bring about hostilities. Iran is not America’s War. It’s is Saudi Arabia’s War. It is Israel’s War. We have nothing to gain from a War with Iran. Not in the political climes of this age.
The Saudis should be forced to take the lead here. The Saudis should take the lead in the Middle East on this issue. The only way that we should declare war in Iran is if Saudi Arabia declares War jointly with Israel. Japan, France, China, India and Italy should be compelled to commit first. The US should commit no land Forces except Seals and SF. Saudi Arabia should be required to commit all of their forces to the conflict, if it comes, as a prerequisite for support in the conflict. Their land forces should be front line. No bullshit support role. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia should request that Israel take part in the Land War and operate jointly with the Israelis against Iran.
There is no way that we should defend Saudi oil profits while the Saudi men sit back and talk Islamic shit over Chai and Sheesha. Likewise, there is no way that we should defend Israel while Israeli military men sit in Tel Aviv and Haifa clubs or sun themselves on Mediterranean beaches. Iran is a major source of oil for France, India, China and Japan. If they wish to keep purchasing this oil for their economies, they should pay the price for it’s continued resourcing.
Saudi Arabia should be required to obtain the consent of the remaining OPEC Nations. Each OPEC Nation should be required to commit land forces as well.
The OPEC Nations should pay the total bill of the conflict. They can obtain reparations from Iran once the conflict is over.
Re-building Iran, if necessary, should be the responsibility of Saudi Arabia and the remaining Islamic OPEC Nations.
America has shed enough blood and spent enough treasure to line the pockets of the tyrants and Islamic hypocrites of Saudi Arabia.
If the world wants war with Iran, let them make war with Iran. Iran is not vital to our National Security. The Straits of Hormuz are not vital to our National Interests. We could survive without oil from that region. Iran is of national importance to the security of China, India, Italy and Japan and a few other Nations. Iran is a threat to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Israel.
Those are the Nations that should be taking the lead in the deliberations with Iran.
America should back off. If those Nations request our assistance, we can decide to help or to stay away from the mess. In this matter, America does not need to take the lead. The Nations that depend on Iranian oil and those nations which are threatened by Iran (Saudi Arabia and Israel) should take the lead in diplomacy and, if it comes, in conflict. If the Saudis are too cowardly to be outspoken in their opposition to Iranian Imperialistic Revolution, America should not cover their collective asses in this fabricated “crisis.”
I have stated before and I’ll state it again. Iran can have the bomb if they desire it. The whole of the Middle East can have the bomb if they so desire. It should be made clear to them, however, that if one Nuclear explosion occurs, there will be massive retaliation. MASSIVE RETALIATION.
I can see why Iran would want a bomb. The Mad Mullahs have every reason to fear the United States and the West. We have acted as stooges for Saudi Arabia for far too long. We have acted out in aggression against the Middle East often. We have meddled in Middle Eastern affairs too often. Iran has every reason to fear our meddling interference in their affairs. If I were one of the Mad Madhis, I’d want the bomb. In the end, though, they would not dare use it. Even if we invaded. They’d have maybe 10-20 bombs over the course of the next decade. The United States has hundreds of such bombs as well as the delivery systems to hit every Iranian city of note.
The West should back off. We should take a conciliatory line. We should open ourselves to Iran and it’s people. On the other side, we should allow Israel to strike against Iran in Lebanon if they feel threatened by Iranian Imperialism in that Nation. Iran has been meddling in Lebanon and Syria for decades. They are no babe in the woods. Hezbollah is their tool of empire. If Hezbollah continues to strike out at Israel, the world should remain quiet if Israel goes in with massive retaliation.
Iran can not complain about an act and then take part in it. That is as hypocritical as their complaints about Palestine. The world should stay out of the Palestinian conflict. If it is ok to meddle in Palestine/Israel, then, it is ok to meddle in Iran and elsewhere. The Western Liberal critics of intervention can not have it both ways.
Palestinian Nationhood is a joke. There never was a Palestine in History. Had the Arabs won in 1948, 1956, 1967 or 1973, there would never have been a thought of a Palestine. Only Arab military incompetence made Palestinian Nationhood possible. The Arab countries would have divided the land which is now Israel and the so-called Occupied Territories. Palestine would not have been created and those peoples would be worse off than they are now.
The West should stop meddling in the Middle East period. We should halt all aid to any country that is non-democratic. If they wish to be Islamic Despotisms, let them have at it. If they wish to be Democracies, let us aid them. That said, the Aid should go to the people. The Aid should not be filtered through the Governments. If the Governments continue to demand their cut, let us cut them off entirely.
Cut the strings by which Saudi Arabia and their OPEC brethren have been puppeteering in the West. Rid us of our oil addiction. Halt aid to corrupt governments in the Middle East and elsewhere. If these countries wish to join the modern world, let them prove it by taking on modern governance and freeing their people. If not, we should have nothing to do with them.
No more oil wars. No war in Iran. No more meddling.
No, I don’t think that to be the case. It’s not really about Islam generally speaking.
It’s more complicated than that.
Islam. Muslims. They’re not bad folks and many of them are damn fine people.
The problem that we won’t face is the Nejd.
Saudi Arabia owns it and has BLACK GOLD.
Also, the official religion of Saudi Arabia is the same form of Islam from which sprang all of the Fundamentalist Thugs who are terrorists. Saudi Arabia is a State Sponsor of Terrorism.
BUT because they have oil. It’s the truth that shall remain unspoken.
It is the evil with no name.
To speak it’s name is to reveal the truth.
It’s easier to keep the public ignorant and let a few hundred or a few thousand die at a time and keep the pipe line open to “cheap” oil.
What’s a few thousand civilians to Big Business and Big Government. Most of the ones who die don’t pay taxes or pay negligible taxes anyway. They don’t matter.
Saudi Arabia is the monster. Wahhabism is their little secret Dr. Frankenstein. Islamic Fundamentalism is the monster escaped from it’s dungeon.
It’s escaped before and the Muslims themselves went in and killed thousands of them in the Nejd while the Brits killed thousand more in the NWFP and the FATA in Central Asia.
Today, though, we choose to ignore the belly of the beast and instead, we “combat” the excretions.
Thousands, no, hundreds of thousands have died in the past 10 years.
To keep that Saudi oil pipeline open.
