The Whole “Died for Your Sins” Thing

jonestown

The Christ Story is insanity defined.

God creates humanity AND sin.

God tells humans that they have free will.

God tells humans that if they exercise free will, he will kill them.

God kills them.

God allows one family to live. Gives ’em plans for an Ark. Says save some animals.

Later, God chooses a family from amongst the descendants of that family. He tells them that he will make them a great nation if they follow only him.

These Chosen as represented by Abraham make a pact with God whereby the males of the people will give up a piece of skin from their penis and follow a set of rules laid down then and later, a few more, given to Moses as they march out of enslavement to the Pharaoh.

[Isaac gets his plank shaved. Ishmael laughs. YHWH and Rebekah demand that Abe expel Ishmael for his impertinence. Islam is born.]

God gives them a land.

CAVEAT: These Chosen must actually go into that land and conquer it.

And, oh by the way, they must kill every man, woman and child…and the animals…or God will not be pleased. Because God is a merciful God.

OOPS! The Chosen let some live.

Later….the Israelites start to get down with Ba’al. God gets jealous.

He calls homosexuality an abomination. He calls fornication a sin. He makes all kinds of groovy new rules to keep his people from leaving him and getting down with the boogie in the Temple of Ba’al which is much more fun because you get to fuck while you worship.

Later on…God gets a case of the ass again and tells the Babylonians, Assyrians and an assortment of other Kingdoms to kick his Chosen people’s collective asses and enslave them, move them about, destroy their temples, etc…

Until finally, Rome comes onto the scene.

Big Bad Rome is used by God to continue the punishment of the Chosen.

Until finally, Jesus is conceived and born to a Virgin with whom God got down and impregnated.

Jesus is sent to cleanse not just the Chosen but the World of sin.

Now, before this God didn’t give a flying fuck about the world. He only cared about the Jews/Hebrews/Israelites.

Suddenly, though, God has looked around and realizes…FUCK, THERE’S A WHOLE BUNCH OF MOTHERFUCKERS OUT THERE!

I’d better come up with a plan for those fuckers as well.

So, he does.

Jesus gets to come on down. Be born. Live about 30 years on his own out of sight and out of mind until suddenly he comes pounding onto the scene on his White Ass.

Jesus defies the Roman-Hebrew rulers. Basically tells them that they’re doing it all wrong.

Tells a bunch of people to love one another and to live by his golden rule and to, you know, treat people how you’d like to be treated coz that old God of Jealousy, Rage, Genocide and Bigotry who had a Chosen has finally awakened to the knowledge that there are a whole lot of motherfuckers out there in the countryside wandering about not knowing what the hell, what the fuck or why the hell and why the fuck.

Jesus makes some wine. He feeds a bunch of folks bread and fish. He gets all ornery in the Temple. He does or does not get his funky groove on with another Mary who is of Magdala and who may have been a rich widower as well as his wife or might have been a prostitute. Depends on who tells the story.

So, YHWH…the Alpha and the Omega…the Omniscient God sent himself down as his own son or maybe sent down his Son to represent him…who the fuck knows…

And this Son-God is tasked with dying for the Sins of all of Humanity. Not just the Jews or Hebrews or Israelites or Judeaens or what the fuck ever they want to be called. But no one knows this until Saul/Paul comes onto the scene a decade or so after the crucifixion, resurrection and ascension.

He came to Earth to be worshipped, to teach, to be rejected, to be betrayed, to be tried in a Kangaroo Court of Romish-Jewish nature, to be tortured, to be walked around with a cross/pole on his back and to be hung on said  cross/pole until his ass was dead.

All so that he could arise. So that he could be resurrected. So that he can be alive. So that he could be seen by a select CHOSEN few who would then be tasked to carry the Good News Gospel that he, Ieshua/Jesus/The Messiah is Risen and Alive to all of the world.

And then.

Jesus/Ieshua disappears.

Until many years later…when he becomes a fucking Muslim and raps with Mohammed on a Midnight Ride.

But sometime  before that, God changes his mind again. He’s no longer the Peace God. He’s no longer all about Love and Forgiveness. He tells a Roman named Constantine to Go Forth and Conquer in his name. And so Constantine does. And so, the Holy Roman Church is born and goes on to conquer, colonize, rape, pillage and generally commit mayhem across Europe, the Middle East and then the Globe.

And now the sons of the followers of Jesus, Constantine, Abraham, Israel, Isaac, Ishmael and Mohammad have arrived at the present. Each declaring themselves the truth. Each willing to kill in the name of their Religion of Peace to prove that theirs is the One True Faith.

God is one sick bastard.

Evil is a Religious Fabrication

tumblr_static_hear_see_speak_no_evil

Evil was created by religion.

Men are creatures who live in duality. We are good and bad. We are never all of one or the other. I know of no perfectly good creatures. I need no God to explain this to me. I need no God to pretend to allow me free will only to punish me for exercising same.

Evil is and has always been based on perception.

There are very few actions which are considered evil universally.

You might say murder. Yet, the State, which is the true religion of every age, has murdered millions and called it good and necessary. We kill to eat. We cause directly and indirectly the death of millions in the name of profit, greed, religion, love, envy and all manner of things.

Murder, it would seem, is only evil when committed by an individual against the will of the State or Religion.

Theft is another. Yet, the State and the Church have stolen trillions from humans. Taxation is theft in the guise of State mandate. It is backed by violence.

Rape, pillage, plunder and slavery have been considered both evil and a right of conquest.

What evil is there that has always and is always evil?

There exist none.

Evil is what we consider it at a particular time and place.

Homosexuality was/is considered evil. Marrying outside of one’s race has been considered evil. Sex outside of marriage has been considered evil.

Women were persecuted for centuries for having sexual intercourse outside of wedlock. If found to be soiled on the wedding night, it was permissible to murder young women who did not show first blood.

What is evil? What has always been evil?

Can you truly say that anything is evil and always evil?

Satan is a figment of the religious imagination. He does not exist. If he did, he is not evil for he is a creature of God. If God created him, he cannot be evil. He may be fallen but we are all redeemable…even the angels.

Religion Hates Me! How Can I Respect That?

Image

I    do not understand “respect” for an archaic vision of hatred. That, to me, is the essence of religion. Religion separates humanity. It categorizes and labels. It creates “the other.” Oftentimes, or more realistically, most often it prejudices it’s adherents AGAINST the other.

Religion unifies one part against the other. It divides.

Certainly, it unifies. However, it does so in a negative manner.

Religion says; “We are this and you are that. AND THAT is an abomination. THAT is wrong.”

What is good about that? What can I find to respect about that?

What if religion were to say; “We are all one. We are different but we are all part of the same whole. It is ok that you are different. We can find common ground and live peaceably and honorably.”

Religion does not do this. Religion names the other sinner, infidel, heathen, savage, heretic, unbeliever, abomination. Religion dehumanizes and allows it’s adherents to think of the lives of all others as unworthy. Unless “the other” converts, submits, reverts or otherwise becomes a part of that religion.

Religion is false. It is simply a means of falsely dividing the people of the earth and controlling that subset in accordance with the whims of “the GoD” of their leader.

Religion keeps us divided.

Religion is false.

Why would I respect that? What earthly reason do I have to respect the religion of the crusades, of jihad, of honor killings, of genocide. This notion that we should respect the beliefs of others is insanity.

No person who truly believes in Islam or Christianity can be tolerant or accepting of other religions or of persons who do not “believe.” Inherent in the beliefs of those two specific religions is the law, judgment, understanding that those who do not believe are going to a hell or will be punished for living their lives outside as a non-believer. There is no real tolerance and can be no real acceptance of others for those who truly believe in the writings of the Bible or the Qu’ran.

To a true believer, you are as good as judged by their GoD. You are unworthy. You are infidel. You are perpetual outsider with no hope of redemption or salvation UNLESS you become one of them…unless you join their FAITH.

And, like the song by Queen, there can be only one.

The two cannot coexist in any true sense. To believe one is to believe the other false. To be one is to believe that the other is not fully human…not worthy of “everlasting life.”

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!

Inherent in the beliefs of those two religions is a disrespect for all other living creatures who dwell upon this planet. You are unclean. You are infidel. You are heathen. You are savage. You are abominable. That IS the belief.

Am I supposed to respect that fundamental hatred of who I am?

God and Free Will

GoD has more in common with Idi Amin (as portrayed by Forrest Whitaker) than George Washington

GoD has more in common with Idi Amin (as portrayed by Forrest Whitaker) than George Washington

This is the basis for the supposed free will granted by GoD to humanity:

Surely, this commandment that I am commanding you today is not too hard for you, nor is it too far away…See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity. If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess. But if your heart turns away and you do not hear, but are led astray to bow down to other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you shall perish…I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live…. (Deut. 30:11–19)

That is not a granting of free will.  It is coercion.

If a parent were to act upon those words in America today, he/she would be jailed.  Yet, Christians somehow believe that those words signify an act of love by GoD toward his “creations.”

Hogwash!

That’s tantamount to telling my children that they are to do as they are told or as punishment, I will murder them.

How is this free will?  How is this the act of a loving GoD?

This is despotism and bullying.  If the President of the United States were to tell the citizens of the United States that we were to do as we were told or he would murder us where we stand, he would be compared to Stalin.  That President would be impeached and, more than likely, given a well earned stay in a prison for the criminally insane.

Yet, GoD has done it and we are to believe it is because he loves us.

Furthermore, there is nothing in the Bible that indicates that God has granted humans a “right” to vote.

That “right” was earned by humanity. Not all of humanity but a part of humanity that was willing to fight for said right.

God has nothing to do with it.

And then there are these golden nuggets:

“And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” — Acts 13:48
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate…. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” — Romans 8:29-30
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.” — 2 Timothy 1:9
“He hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.” — Ephesians 1:4-5
“God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation.” — 2 Thessalonians 2:13
“God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned.” — 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation.” — Jude 4
“For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth. …. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth. Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction.” — Romans 9:11-22
FREE WILL?  Looks like God has already decided who gets the Golden Ticket to Paradise.

Christian Morality

What is right and what is wrong?

The Christian God believes that murder is moral. The Christian God killed or allowed to be killed the whole family of Job based upon a wager with the “adversary.” The Christian God is not a moral God.

The Christian God demanded a blood sacrifice in the form of his “only begotten son” in order to forgive sin that was already in his power to forgive.

If it was not already in his power to forgive those sins then there is a higher power than your God by whose rules YHWH is playing. Otherwise, he could have saved his son the trouble of being tortured, whipped, humiliated and hung on a cross and simply forgiven the world.

There is absolutely nothing moral about Christianity. It is based upon human sacrifice. How moral is that?

“Abraham, you must sacrifice your son.”

Later that night: “Oh, shit! My bad dawg…I was hittin’ the Ganja!.  You really don’t need to do that, Abraham. I was just testing you in the cruelest manner possible by seeing if you were willing to murder your own son to prove your loyalty to me. Dude, Abraham, you really are loyal.  Just like a dog.  There’s a good boy.”

3 or 4 thousand years later.

“Ah shit, Yeshua…. Dude… You have to go to Earth. After you’ve been there and preached this new ambiguous message of faith, hope and love, I’m going to need you to subject yourself to temptation from that Satan dude. Then I’ll need you to allow one of your best friends to betray you and you have to forgive him. Then I’ll need you to let the Romans take you away. They’re going to torture you…humiliate you…probably piss and shit on you…then they’re going to kill you in the most excruciating manner ever devised by crucifying you.”

“Fuck Dude, why didn’t you just let Cousin Abe sacrifice Isaac.” said Jesus/Yeshua

“Yeshua, dude, I am the lord thy God. You must obey me. Now shut the fuck up and get down there. I’ve told Joseph that I could impregnate his wife without her losing her virginity. Humans! They’ll believe anything.”

“Ok Pops, but only because you so love the world.”

“Why yes….I do.”

This Christian God can’t even make up his mind. Killing good. killing bad. Genocide good. Genocide bad. Slavery good. Slavery bad. Rape and pillage good. Rape and pillage bad. Human sacrifice good. Human sacrifice bad. Human sacrifice good.

Where is this great and absolute Christian morality?

Studying the Bible and the acts of Christians themselves…I don’t see it.

So please tell me again how Judeo-Christian morality is good for the world.

I guess that it’s flexible and situational….that’s a good thing mostly.

God changes his mind more than a flip floppin’ Political Candidate.

BAD RELIGION

This goes out to all the fools who use their religions to spread hate and tales of HELL, Fire and Brimstone and Gehena.  To those who are intolerant.  To those who use religion as a tool of segregation and to those who refuse to accept others in all the varied cultures, creeds, sexes, races and beliefs that make this earth so wonderful.

(Spoken) The word of God it says, that we will recieve praise of God. God will begin to speak forth. Our righteousness is of Him, sayeth the Lord.

Get Back!

Can you feel I’m not like you anymore?
I can’t see, I can’t breathe!
See you quiver like the dogs on the streets.
Looking down on as I beat you.

It’s a bad religion
From a broken nation
It’s a contradiction

And I can’t take it anymore, Yeah!

Who’s to say I won’t like you anyway?
Take a deep breath I’m alive.
Can you hear me? I’m alive inside you.
Agony creeps up behind you.

[repeat chorus]

And I can’t take it any fuckin’ way!

[repeat chorus]

Can you feel it?
I’ve gotta live with it every day.
And I can’t take the pressure,
I’m goin’ insane. Now go away!
Go away!

(Spoken) Now if you start praising God, wherever you are. I don’t care where you are, I don’t care what’s happening, just begin to praise Him, begin to praise Him and praise Him and praise Him and praise Him and worship Him

To those who use their religion as a personal philosophy of love and acceptance.  For you, may the Gods bring love, life and blessings of bountiful abundance.

Saudi Clerics say drink your Neighbors Breast Milk (Breast Milk Sibling “Custom”)

https://i1.wp.com/feministing.com/imageStorage/saudirape.jpeg

Saudi Clerics Advocate Adult Breast-Feeding

(June 5) — Women in Saudi Arabia should give their breast milk to male colleagues and acquaintances in order to avoid breaking strict Islamic law forbidding mixing between the sexes, two powerful Saudi clerics have said. They are at odds, however, over precisely how the milk should be conveyed.
A fatwa issued recently about adult breast-feeding to establish “maternal relations” and preclude the possibility of sexual contact has resulted in a week’s worth of newspaper headlines in Saudi Arabia. Some have found the debate so bizarre that they’re calling for stricter regulations about how and when fatwas should be issued.
Sheikh Al Obeikan, an adviser to the royal court and consultant to the Ministry of Justice, set off a firestorm of controversy recently when he said on TV that women who come into regular contact with men who aren’t related to them ought to give them their breast milk so they will be considered relatives.
“The man should take the milk, but not directly from the breast of the woman,” Al Obeikan said, according to Gulf News. “He should drink it and then becomes a relative of the family, a fact that allows him to come in contact with the women without breaking Islam’s rules about mixing.”
Obeikan said the fatwa applied to men who live in the same house or come into contact with women on a regular basis, except for drivers.
Al Obeikan, who made the statement after being asked on TV about a 2007 fatwa issued by an Egyptian scholar about adult breast-feeding, said that the breast milk ought to be pumped out and given to men in a glass.
But his remarks were followed by an announcement by another high-profile sheik, Abi Ishaq Al Huwaini, who said that men should suckle the breast milk directly from a woman’s breast.
Shortly after the two sheiks weighed in on the matter, a bus driver in the country’s Eastern Region reportedly told one of the female teachers whom he drives regularly that he wanted to suckle milk from her breast. The teacher has threaten to file a lawsuit against him.

The fatwa stems from the tenets of the strict Wahhabi version of Islam that governs modern Saudi Arabia and forbids women from mixing with men who are not relatives. They are also not allowed to vote, drive or even leave the country without the consent of a male “guardian.”

Under Islamic law, women are encouraged to breast-feed their children until the age of 2. It is not uncommon for sisters, for example, to breast-feed their nephews so they and their daughters will not have to cover their faces in front of them later in life. The custom is called being a “breast milk sibling.”

In another bizarre fatwa (ruling) by the Wahhabi Clerics of that insane religion from the Nejd, a group of Saudi Clerics has stated that men who frequently interact with women from outside of their family should drink the breast milk of said women in order to become their “siblings.”

Why make rules or even follow the Qu’ran if they are going to go to such lengths to get around them.  The Saudi Kings and Princes [supposedly] follow Islam while they are in the Kingdom.  When they depart the sacred land of Arabia, these Princes do as they please.  The rules apparently only apply while they are on sacred Saudi soil.

I know that while I was in Kuwait several Filipino gals were kidnapped, raped, murdered and then deposited in the desert.  The desert tells no tales.  Another “custom” of these holy men of Arabia is to lure young Filipino and other Asian gals into one of the desert Kingdoms with the lure of employment.  Come to Kuwait or Saudi Arabia or one of the UAE countries to become a maid, an aux pair or run a restaurant.  Once the girls arrive, the sponsor takes her passport.  The first thing that takes place is that the girl is raped and beaten.  She no longer is in possession of her passport. This is in the possession of her sponsor.  She has no recourse.  She can’t complain to the police.  They’ll not believe her.  Especially as the rules of Sharee’ah are in force.  She needs witnesses.  If she claims rape, yet, has no witnesses, she’s guilty of adultery or fornication or crimes against chastity.  She’ll be judged against and punished harshly.  Up to and including beatings, canings, lashes and death.

I guess now, though, all they have to do is give up a little breast milk and their siblings.

Hey!  Then everything is A-OK.

Ain’t that grand.

And that’s Islam in a nutshell.

Patriarchal idiocy.

Utter nonsense.

Power in the name of religion, Allah, Mohammad.

Wahhabism.

The Wahhabis need to be ended.  Period.

Without Wahhabism, Islam could be a decent religion.  Possibly have a renaissance era that brings it into an era of peace and out of it’s essence of death, violence and war.

Any person in the West who is mad enough or stupid enough to justify or rationalize this lunacy should be deported and made to live in Saudi Arabia in the Nejd.

Air drop their ridiculous selves into the Nejd and let them fend for themselves.  That’s a perfect punishment for child molestors, rapists and murderers, too.  Hell, perhaps we could send our politicians there, too.  Let’s make Obama the first example of Islamic “Justice.”

Best Buy Ad Touting Muslim Holiday Sparks Debate

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

A Best Buy ad with a Muslim theme is raising questions of how retailers should mark religious holidays.

The ad on BestBuy.com wishes Muslims a happy Eid al-Adha, a Muslim holiday that lasts three days and happens to fall on the extended Thanksgiving weekend.

A BestBuy.com message board has been filled with mixed responses since the ad was posted, MyFoxTwinCities.com reports.

One says, “Thank you Best Buy for the Eid Greetings!! I plan to spend more money at BB (Best Buy.) Thank you for being inclusive of various cultures.”

Another post wasn’t as supportive: “Happy Eid Al-Adha but no Merry Christmas? I assume your next advertisements will say Merry Christmas. Otherwise, I will no longer shop at best buy. I will shop at those businesses which support Christmas.”

Best Buy released a statement saying, “We do use the word ‘holiday’ in some of our advertising because it is meant to be inclusive to everyone. However, just as we have in the past, we will also reference specific holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa in our weekly ads, store signage and other advertising vehicles.”

I don’t get it.  I don’t understand how marketing firms can think it is non-offensive to generalize Christian Holidays and then specifically market to Muslims on  Islamic holidays.  I don’t have a problem with gearing their marketing towards Muslims and their holidays.  Though, were I Muslim, I’d be offended with the commercial targeting of such a holy occasion.  However, I question the wisdom of surrendering to the PC Police when it comes to Christianity by steering away from the use of terms like “Merry Christmas” and instead using Happy Holidays while specifically targeting Muslim holidays and using Islamic terms in the advertising such as “Eid Mubarak.”  Muslims be careful.  This is the first step towards commercializing your holy days.  The last step is the loss of all meaning except gaining a profit from your religious and semi-religious cohorts.

As the old saying goes, BUYER BEWARE!

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I believe that God has no true connection to any of the established religions of our age.  Every religioin/church of our age is an offshoot of some system of governance and all have been used for the accumulation and furtherance earthly authority/power.

I believe that God loves all of humanity and accepts all of mankind despite religious belief or affiliation. Furthermore, I believe that if he was as active an interloper in the affairs of man, he would have destroyed all of the current set of religions much as the Bible portrays him as destroying Sodom and Gomorra. All earthly religions are corruptions of the true spirit of God and humanity.  Whether it be the Protestant/Catholic schism of Christianity or the Shi’a/Sunni schism of Islam, all sow discord and divide when they should be uniting energies for all of mankind.

Only when a religion unites mankind through compassion, spirituality and love–faith, hope and love–only then will a religion have the true authority and standing of God.

God is Faith.

God is Hope.

God is Love

For all of humanity. Not one race. Not one belief. Not only for straight people. Not only for Jews or gentiles or Muslims or Hindus or anyone one specific people.

God is for all of humanity.

Enough on Religion and it’s ill effects on humanity.

My boy Farhad is leaving for Iran on Saturday. He probably won’t be back until after I depart for leave. Today, I wrote him a letter of introduction to the Embassy of the Netherlands for his Visa application. If all goes well, he’ll depart for the Netherlands before I return. I’m going to miss Farhad.   And so it begins, the end draws near.

God and the USMC

https://i1.wp.com/kevinpierpont.com/library/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/usmc-ega.jpg

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between
assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the ACLU .

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in he looked to the ceiling and flatly stated; ‘God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I’ll give you exactly 15 minutes.’ The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.

Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, ‘Here I am God. I’m still waiting.’ It got down to the last couple of minutes when the
Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him, knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.

The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other
students were shocked, stunned, and sat there looking on in silence.

The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, ‘What the heck is the matter with you? Why did you do that?’ The Marine calmly replied, ‘God was too busy today protecting American soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot.  So, He sent me.’

Conversations with God

This is an excerpt from Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsh.

GOD: “If you believe that God is someone omnipotent being who hears all prayers, says “yes” to some, “no” to others, and “maybe, but not now” to the rest, you are mistaken. By what rule of thumb would God decide?

If you believe that God is the creator and decider of all things in your life, you are mistaken.

God is the observer, not the creator. And God stands ready to assist you in living your life, but not in the way you might expect.

It is not God’s function to create, or uncreate, the circumstances and conditions of your life. God created you, in the image and likeness of God. You have created the rest, through the power God has given you. God created the process of life and life itself as you know it. Yet God gave you free choice, to do with life as you will.

In this sense, your will for you is God’s will for you.

You are living your life the way you are living your life and I have no preference in the matter

This is the grand illusion in which you have engaged: that God cares one way or the other what you do.

I do not care what you do, and that is hard for you to hear. Yet do you care what your children do when you send them out to play? Is it a matter of consequence to you whether they play tag, or hide and seek, or pretend? No, it is not, because you know they are perfectly safe. You have placed them in an environment which you consider friendly and very okay.

Of course, you will always hope that they do not hurt themself. And if they do, you will be right there to help them, heal them, allow them to feel safe again, to be happy again, to go and play again another day. But whether they choose hide and seek or pretend will not matter to you the next day, either.

You will tell them, of course, which games are dangerous to play. But you cannot stop your children from doing dangerous things. Not always. Not forever. Not in every moment from now until death. It is the wise parent who knows this. yet the parent never stops caring about the outcome. It is this dichotomy – not caring deeply about the process, but caring deeply about the result – that comes close to describing the dichotomy of God.

Yet God, in a sense does not even care about the outcome. Not the ultimate outcome. This is because the ultimate outcome is assured.

And this is the second greatest illusion of man: that the outcome of life is in doubt.

It is this doubt about ultimate outcome that has created your greatest enemy, which is fear. For if you doubt outcome, then you must doubt Creator – you must doubt God. And if you doubt God, you must live in fear and guilt all your life.

If you doubt God’s intentions – and God’s ability to produce this ultimate result – then how can you ever relax? How can you ever truly find peace?

Yet God has full power to match intentions with results. You cannot and will not believe in this (even though you claim that God is all-powerful), and so you have to create in your imagination a power equal to God, in order that you may find a way for God’s will to be thwarted. And so you have created in your mythology the being you call “devil”. You have even imagined a God at war with this being (thinking that God solves problems the way you do). Finally, you have actually imagined that God could lose this war.

All of this violates everything you say you know about God, but this doesn’t matter. You live your illusion, and thus feel your fear, all out of your decision to doubt God.

But what if you made a new decision? What then would be the result?

I tell you this: you would live as the Buddha did. As Jesus did. As did every saint you have ever idolized.

Yet, as with most of those saints, people would not understand you. And when you tried to explain your sense of peace, your joy in life, your inner ecstasy, they would listen to your words, but not hear them. They would try to repeat your words, but would add to them.

They would wonder how you could have what they cannot find. And then they would grow jealous. Soon jealousy would turn to rage, and in their anger they would try to convince you that it is you who do not understand God.

And if they were unsuccessful at tearing you from your joy, they would seek to harm you, so enormous would be their rage.
