The Immorality of the United States

american-enslavement

The Federal Government has oppressed and chased many groups around America and the World. We enslaved millions of Africans and then oppressed them for 100 plus more years with Jim Crow and other depredations. We had the Mormon Wars. We had the Philippine Wars. We took Hawaii against the wishes of her peoples. We forced our dictator of choice on Guatemala and several other Nations in South America. We deposed Mossadegh and installed the despot, impotentate Shah. We have all but forced the House of Saud on the people of Saudi Arabia. We forced petty slobs on the people of South Vietnam and assassinated them when they wouldn’t toe our line. We supported Noriega until he developed an independent streak and only then decided that his drug business was criminal. And then there is the 100 plus year genocide of the American Indian that lasted into the 20th Century and in some ways continues still.

I’m not certain why folks place so much faith in a government that has failed morally time and time again. We are failing morally now in the Wars on Terror and Drugs. Yet, Democrats and Republicans swear that this time it will be different.

From where does this misplaced trust in our government spring.

Study real history and ask yourself? Did the “American Century” really make the world a better place or did it simply sustain American Power and Corporate Opportunity?

Certainly, we project power and open markets. We have also caused instability throughout the Middle East. We have supported petty impotentates across the world. Not only have we supported them, we have installed them and aided in the murder of the democratic opposition at the behest of Corporate entities such as United Fruits, Big Oil and others. Is this a moral stance?

I think not.

Where is the shining city on the hill with which Reagan mesmerized America? The people of the world grow more desperate as America’s multinational corporations and banks grow more powerful.

Is the Federal Government Afraid of the American People?

There is no other explanation for this:

President Obama blocks off whole highways so that he can travel in "safety." But safe from who? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

President Obama blocks off whole highways so that he can travel in “safety.” But safe from who? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

(Yes, I know it’s Alex Jones.  That matters not for it is the act of segregation that should be thought upon here.  Not the rantings of Mad Alex)

President Obama moves through the city of Austin and blocks off all access to the highways and roads on which he will be traveling.

This gives the distinct impression that:

1.  The President is above the people.

I see this action taking place in Afghanistan, Egypt, Thailand, Russia and other places that are Third World or Oligarchic.  This is the action of a tyrant.  This is the act of a person who believes that he is above his subjects.

2.  The President fears the people.

In a free society such as that which America is supposed to be, the President is, or should be, a man of the people.  Yet when Presidents travel they are more and more guarded as though they are Kings or Dictators.  It is now illegal to protest and to peaceably assemble in areas wherein the President is known (or not known) to be occupying space.  The same is true of Congress.

When did this become America?  How is this America?  These are further signs that America has veered far from the path laid out by the founding fathers.  We are not longer on a path of liberty and justice for all.  We are on a path of elitism.  Justice for our betters and all others take what they can get..and risk persecution for daring to ask for basic rights and standards of justice.

The America Republic is falling.  It is failing.

What is America becoming for we certainly are not on the path to freedom.

Reparations for Black Americans

Why should a non-victim or partial victim or co-victim have to pay reparations for a crime, oppression, repression or suppression which they did not commit and against which they have or would have fought if they were alive at the time.

I have been a victim of racism on several occasions. I was jumped by 8 black men simply because I was White. I was lucky as I wasn’t as alone as they thought I was and several friends, including Black friends, came to my aid.

How can I blame Black people for beating my ass when Black people were among those who came to my aid?

It’s the same with Slavery.

African Slaves were sold into slavery by Africans. They were sold to Europeans, other Africans as well as to Arabs and Asians.

African Slaves were ultimately freed, in America, because White people fought to uphold the Union. That fight, ultimately, ended slavery for the African in America.

Ironically, Slavery is still legal in some African Nations. It still exists. IN AFRICA.

Somehow, Bill Clinton thought it wise, humanitarian…an American duty to apologize to Africa for African Slavery.

That never made sense to me.

“Africa, we apologize Slavery by which I mean we apologize for purchasing slaves from African Slave traders who enriched themselves off of the African Slave trade.”

And now others wish for those who are descendants of non-slave holding Americans to pay folks who were never enslaved but who were descendants of slaves some 150 odd years ago or more because Africans sold Africans in to slavery to peoples of other nations thereby creating for all future Americans a period of indentured servitude that is essentially unconstitutional by enslaving future generations of said Americans to the Federal State and their minions at the IRS who will be forced to pay off the debt created by said reparations.

Something about that makes zero sense to me.

Maybe it’s just me.
