Fear and the State

Hayat Boumeddiene 'appears in Islamic State film' - 06 Feb 2015

Do these ISIS “Terrorists” look Arab to you?

To understand the average human, you must look inwards.

See your fear and understand what you fear.

They have fear as well. They simply fear something different.

Add State and non-State actors such as Hillary and Trump, Fox News, Rachel Maddow, Bill Oh Really and the moronic chimps on The View amongst others and the fear mongering which acts as a nuclear charge…there you have it.

People fear. Others prey upon that fear.

In America, those who are most susceptible to the fear mongering are those who do not inform themselves instead relying upon Political Operatives and Mainstream News Sources which have been subverted since, at least, the 1950s to do just that — INDUCE FEAR.

Fear creates passivity and acquiescence.

OH DEAR, STATE! PLEASE SAVE US FROM THE GREAT BOOGIE MEN WHICH THOU HAST SET BEFORE US!

My Muslim, My Brother, My Sister, My Friend

Here is the thing that I cannot reconcile with the Right fear of Muslims.

I know, have come to know and have met so many Muslims in the past decade and a half working overseas.

The majority of them are open minded. They are Muslims. You are Christian. Another is Jewish or Atheist or Animist. It doesn’t matter.

These people have befriended me. Brought me into their lives with open arms.

Some of them have protected me from harm.

Many of them curse ISIS, the Taliban, al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. Many abhor Saudi Arabia.

I’ve even had some purported Muslims tell me that they hate the the Arabs came to their land and spread their religion.

They’re Muslim. They are Shi’a. Ismaeli. Sunni, Sufi and a dozen other sects.

They are Afghan, Jordanian, Egyptian, Israeli, Uzbek, Tajik, Pushtoon, Hazara, Thai, Cham and a hundred other nationalities, tribes and ethnicities.

None of them wish any other ill.

Most of them desire only what any other human desires. Security. A house over their head. Food and Water. A place under the sun and a better life for their children.

Yet, because some Muslims would force their religion and their desires on all other humans, these people whom I have come to call friend, brother and sister are looked upon as evil, enemy, villain.

I know it to be otherwise.

(And I say this as a man who thoroughly abhors all religion.)

Why are Americans so Scared of Everything?

fears-2350

I have often wondered why Americans seem so fearful. So easily “fear-mongered.”.

I read and speak to folks in America and I watch the media sensationalize everything into an unhealthy fear of the unknown. I say unknown because it is obvious that these folks have no experience outside of America. I’m not counting that two week vacay to Aruba.

I travel quite frequently to places like Cambodia, Egypt, Turkey. I work in places like Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kuwait, etc. Any time I discuss these places with my mother, I’m assailed with information and emails about how “dangerous” each place is. Many (most?) Americans seem to be of the same mind. To them, every place outside of America is fraught with danger. They seem to believe that one should just stay home…where it’s “safe.”

Having traveled widely in the world, I can say that none of these places are as dangerous as, it seems, the average American believes. I want to say grow a pair but having thought about the issue, I realize that it’s more ignorance of the world and inexperience than courage or lackthereof. Americans seem to be in their own little world. They also seem to be uninterested in the world about them. Only when something violent occurs in a country or upon news of some crisis do Americans learn of the wider world. Usually, the knowledge comes to them from the American Media.

This seems to produce in Americans some fear of the world and a hatred and distrust of the peoples therein. I can tell you from experience. The world is not as bad as Fox, CNN and MSNBC make it seem. The only way to learn this is to do one’s own research and to travel the world and meet its inhabitants first hand.

However, Americans historically have no interest in travel outside of America. I suppose this means that Americans will always be easily led by special interest parties who can lie to them and fearmonger Americans into hating, distrusting and cursing the peoples outside of America’s borders.

This is a shame for the world is a better place when America has courage.

The American Police and American Military

good-cop

“…they want to go home to their children.”

I have a huge problem with this attitude.

If a Cops first instinct and greatest concern is this, he should not be a Cop.

I have worked in Combat Zones and sure, I want to go home to my family as well. I’m working in a Combat Zone now. If that were my first and greatest concern, there is no way that I could do my job.

I would make poor decisions constantly.

As a matter of fact, I believe that part of the reason that we have lost the initiative in Afghanistan is due to our risk aversion. General don’t want to have casualties. We don’t go out there to the Afghans. We don’t take the battle to the enemy. We sit on FOBs and let the enemy come at us.

We’re cowards. I think that is the problem with many police and much of the police leadership. They are fearful.

Corruption, poor training and fear has led to a Police Force that is practically worthless to the American people.
