This is one of the more interesting items I saw as we walked around the shops in Istanbul. Thought about buying one but passed. I regret that decision a bit. Would have been a nice decor piece.
Turkey is mostly a secular State. I don’t think I saw more than 20 women wearing the hijab or chadori. It seemed that most of the women who were actually wearing those items were tourists and not from Turkey.
Istanbul was an amazing city. The Hagia Sofia (Aya Sofia), the Blue Mosque were incredible. Such history there. And they highlighted the Christian history of the Hagia Sofia moreso than the Islamic period.
Beauty is difficult to hide, Dawood. How do these muslim ladies get away with painting their skin or or showing it all?
Or is it only the craftsman’s imagination?
