NO REGRETS

COMING SOON TO A BOOKSTORE NEAR YOU!

The Book is written.  Currently, it is undergoing an editing, validation and revision process.

When I first started writing this book, I thought it would be a difficult process.  I read a couple of hundred biographies, memoirs and other accounts of current events.  I collected my notes.  I wrote down thoughts and ideas.  I attended writing seminars and read books on writing.

When I finally sat down to write, it was a challenge.  First, I didn’t know where to start.  Should I start from the beginning.  Should I write what came to me.  Should I start with what came to mind.

I decided to write “out of order.”  Meaning that I wrote what popped up first.  Later, I put together an outline and started to place the pieces in chronological order.

The Amazing part of writing this book was that once I got into it, the flood gates opened.  I started to remember events and experiences that I’d not thought about in years.

The book is essentially about my years mentoring the Afghan National Police.  How we did it.  What we did.  What went right.  What went wrong.

That didn’t seem enough, though.  I felt that I could not simply start in Afghanistan in 2007.  People would ask; “How did he get there?”  What made him qualified to train Afghan Police?”  “How did he get the job?”  “What was the process by which he was hired?”

I added a preface of sorts.  The years leading up to my being hired to train and mentor Afghans.

After all, these are valid questions.  I was mentoring Senior Afghan Police officials on Logistics processes that would lead to a professionalization of their force.  If….IF we did it right.

And that’s what the book is about.

Everything that went down.  Who I trained.  How they accepted that training.  Corruption.  Murder.  Violence.  Kidnapping and Ransom.  Brigands and Fiends.  Friendship and Laughter.  Rockets and Bombs.  Scandals.   The people and places.  The life and “adventures” of working  with the Afghan National Police.

I’ll start shopping the book to Agents in mid-November.  But if anyone reads this and is interested, please do not hesitate to drop an inquiry.

“the free soul is rare, but you know it when you see it – basically because you feel good, very good, when you are near or with them.”
Charles Bukowski, Tales of Ordinary Madness

The road to truth is long, and lined the entire way with annoying bastards

I love you when you bow in your mosque,
kneel in your temple,
pray in your church.
For you and I are sons of one religion,
and it is the spirit.

Hang On While Ya Can

Rollin’ through to fifty

The end becomes more clear

Rollin’ through a life time

I don’t care when it comes

Not afraid of dying

Nothing to fear in the end

I’d love to live forever

But only in the mind

A body can take so much ya know

And come to end so swift

Take care, be healthy, Why?

No one comes to it intact

Work from Nine to Five

Gather a lifetime of trinkets

Push on through to the big Six-Oh!

If luck is with you

You don’t go too far

You can still remember your name

Slow on to the 80s

Hangin’ on to life

I’d rather go out quickly

With beauty still and vital

Push too far you go insane

You never know it though

Life began at thirty

You get a good few years

But the doctors and Big Brother

They want you to kick around

Taxes and insurance

That’s why we push for more

Think it’s for your life

Guess again, think again, revolt

Push on through?

I don’t think so

Break on through instead

The other side is calling

Mystery and myst it seems

Yet it draws us back, I know not why or how

The American Dream, the life fandango, to boogie with a kid

We are bedazzled by the blind

I don’t want to live forever

Death is not my enemy

But I’ll hang on while I can

Beijing — The Forbidden City

WOW!  I was going through old posts and came across this one.  Apparently, I’d uploaded the pics and never gone back to it.

These are from the winter of 2006.  My first long trip to Asia.  Amazing what an experience that turned out to be.  I became more or less addicted to Asia.  I’ve been back to China since then and lived in Thailand for a year aside from various excursion throughout Southeast Asia.

This was my first big trip with Becca.  I’m sure I drove her crazy.  lol  Nagged her to death and caused her all kinds of inner turmoil.

We’ve since traveled all over the world.  India.  Greece.  Italy.  France.  Israel.  Turkey.  Egypt twice.

Some of the most exciting experiences I could ever have dreamed up as a child in Louisville, KY.

Life is freakin’ incredible.

A New and Improved Pledge

A New Pledge of Allegiance for America

A New Pledge of Allegiance for America

America The Beautiful

O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain!
America!  America!  God shed his grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.

O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life!
America!  America!  May God thy gold refine,
Till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years
Thine Alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears!
America!  America!  God shed his grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.

Atheists, Christians and Muslims

Learn to live with each other and accept each other or please just shut the fuck up!  As a person who thinks all of your belief systems or lackthereof is mere fantasy, scifi mumbo jumbo, I could care less which of you wins in the end.

As long as you leave me the fuck alone and let me live my life they way I see fit.  I don’t care how you do or do not worship.  Nor do I care how pathetically hypocritical you each live your beliefs and lives.

I’m a fairly vocal individual about my beliefs. I’ve rarely had anyone challenge me or attempt to do me harm because of them.   I’ve argued/debated with Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Mormons, Buddhists and a Zoroastrian or two. Though, I’ve never had a Jehovah’s Witness with the balls to stick around and discuss religion with me.

Where the fuck is all of this discrimination?

Maybe I’m just a dickhead who scares the shit out of people. Fuck, I don’t know. I’ve just never had anyone come at me and tell me that since I do not believe as they do that I can’t have this job or join in on this outing or this party or what have you. If they did, they’d feel my dissatisfaction immediately.

I don’t remember a situation in school where my beliefs really mattered for shit. We didn’t pray in school. When I was 5-12 in Elementary School, I vaguely remember reciting the Pledge of Allegiance out loud. Can’t remember when it stopped. I didn’t give a fuck about it.  Though, sometimes, it made me feel proudly patriotic and gave me a good positive vibe for the rest of the day.   I stood up and looked at all the cute girls around me and attempted to stifle yawns and keep the snot from rolling out of my nose and down my chin as I mouthed the words.

Where the fuck do all of these things happen?

Was I just lucky?

We had Black, White and Asian classmates at Franklin Elementary School. We had a kid named Israel and I thought it was a cool name because of it’s Biblical associations. Had a Black Girl named Jerry Butler. She had a guys name and we sometimes teased her because of it. We had a guy named Stacy and we teased him because he had a girls name.  We had a girl who always had boogers hanging from her nose and she liked to pick them and eat them. We had two really cute girls who were all the rave. We had one guy who smelled like poop whom we called “Poopy Pants Jones.” We had one gal who had buck teeth at whom we sometimes yelled “Barbara Ward…phuh phuh…Bugs Bunny….phuh phuh!!!”  (She grew up to be quite pretty, if I remember correctly.  Though, I’ve not seen most of these people in over two decades.)

We had a couple of girls and boys who were extremely bright and whom everyone always thought would go places….some did and one went exactly weird but followed his own path and is doing quite well.

I was a solitary little fucker who had enough friends but didn’t really study hard and was shy as ten motherfuckers so I wouldn’t participate in much because it freaked me out. I’m sure there were a few people like me. I’d do just well enough to get along and for people to leave me alone.

Most of us experienced a bully or two or a situation that was embarrassing or two or three or four experiences of that sort.

Shit like that.  Normal fuckin’ life situations.

None of us filed a fucking lawsuit. None of us committed suicide. None of us brought a fuckin’ gun to school and started shooting motherfucker’s whom we didn’t like or who had bullied us.  Though, now that I’m 210lbs and 6′ and can bench most than most fucks my age, there is one guy whom I’d like to go back and bitch slap.  Just for old times sake.

And I came from a family with an Alcoholic father. I moved something like 40 fuckin’ times from birth to HS grad. Damn near half of the kids from my youth had family problems ranging from abusive fathers to absentee parents to drunken alcoholic fathers.  We didn’t kill our teachers because of it or go postal or whine for two decades about it.  We drove the fuck on!

I still do not recall a single instance of anyone giving a fuck if I were an atheist or a Christian or a fuckin’ Muslim. Though, I do recall one Muslim family at Barrett Middle School or Ballard HS. I think they were immigrants from Indonesia.  And I thought they were vaguely interesting and exotic because of their religion.   I’ve always thought that Jehovah’s Witnesses were strange.  All secretive and whatnot.  But I didn’t unfriend Sam when I learned that he was one.  Hell, I grew up Pentecostle.  You want to talk about fuckin’ strange.  Folks runnin’ up and down the aisle like they’re possessed.  Yelling in fake languages.  “Hikama Hakama…seekama sockama!  YOU”RE HEALED!!!”

Jimmy Swaggert bopped my head so hard “healing” me that I thought it was gonna pop off and roll down the aisle like a bowlin’ ball.

When I lived in Atlanta for a few months one year. I think when I was 13 or 14, we moved into a place that had boatloads (pun intended) of immigrants from all over. We had Hindus, Muslims and fuckin’ everything else.

I don’t recall anyone really giving a fuck about anyone’s religion.

Why, over the past two decades, when we’re supposed to be such a fuckin’ tolerant goddamn society has this become such an issue?

It seems to me that people just want to feel special. So instead of just sucking it up when they say the Pledge of Allegiance and assigning their own meaning to “God” or saying “one Nation,……., indivisible”….now they want everyone to know and acknowledge that they’re fuckin’ special and that they believe or don’t believe this or that.

Who gives a fuck?

Suck it up.

A Manger scene at a Fire Station. I pass one up and I think; “Fuck! It’s already Christmas!” I don’t think; “Those fucking CHRISTIANS! They can’t get away with this! I’m filing a goddamn motherfuckin’ goddamn law suit!”

FUCK ME!

TOLERANCE MY ASS!!!!

INTOLERANCE IS WHAT THIS SHIT IS ALL ABOUT!

These fucks want everyone else to “tolerate” them as they go out of their way to be intolerable to everyone else.

FUCK ALL OF THESE BASTARdS!!!

MERRY FUCK YOU! ONE AND ALL!!!!

HAHAHAAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

God damn that felt good…

Two Rocks

OK…

See the two rocks…

Well, some Muslims believe that it is forbidden to touch the penis (even one’s own penis) with one’s hands.

In order to urinate, they’ll take two rocks and hold their penis.

Being the polite and considerate culture that Islam is…they leave the rocks in the toilet so that they’ll be conveniently available for others.

Yes! The next guy WILL use those same two rocks to hold his penis.

And the next one…and the next one…and the next one…lol

Crazy Scheit!!!

ROOT CAUSES: Illegal Immigration

http://cagle.com/news/Immigration06/images/bilicki.gif

Illegal immigrants are everywhere these days.  Kentucky, New Jersey, Maine, Michigan, Idaho, North Dakota.  Americans are fed up.  They ask why they must pay the tax bill for illegal immigrant welfare.

It’s the cost of cheap labor. If Americans are going to allow South and Central Americans and Mexicans to migrate North so that American Business can get labor so cheap that China looks magnanimous by comparison, then this is the price America must pay.

It’s the same as it ever was. Business passing off expenses to the consumer.

Big (and small) Business gets CHEAP LABOR. The government takes up the slack. The tax payer pays for the Federal Government to take up that slack.

What’s new about this?

America did it with the Japanese, Chinese, Irish, Germans, Italians and others. Now America is doing it with Mexicans and the other Southern fellows.  I didn’t mention the Africans because that was different. Slavery was not written off and passed to the customer. There is no comparison between what happened to the Slaves and what occurred with other immigrant groups or the current batch. Slavery was simply evil incarnate.  Romans treated their slaves better than the American Southern Gentleman treated his.

Cheap labor.  It’s wonderful.  You want inexpensive products. Well, this is how you get it in America.  Illegal Immigration.  The only reason that Americans are complaining about illegal immigration is because it’s in their faces.  DAILY!  If it weren’t such an obvious phenomenon, the issue would not hold the collectively and infamously short attention span of the American political consciousness.

Cheap labor makes products that come from all over the world. China, Cambodia, Burma, etc,.  Not too many Americans give this a second thought as they purchase their Under Armour Shoes and Shirts.  Not many Americans spare a thought about these places because they aren’t walking by American front porches or soaking up American tax dollars.

This is the cost of Capitalism and Low Prices. Starvation wages, sweat houses, people living in squalor. All so Americans can buy cheaper iPods, Oranges, Bananas and Nikes. In the end, the devil takes his due.

GO CAPITALISM!

I’m all for it.

The last pic begs the question.  Why do people have children when they know that they can’t take care of them?

Graduation — First Class of 2008

I wrote this up in Feb 2008.  Made it Private for the Military.  Now, I’m putting it out here.  Most of these folks are moved on.  So it’s safe.

__________________________________________________________

We graduated our first class of 2008. The Big Man–MG Ak– wasn’t around so BG Ali Khan was our Master of Ceremonies. The ceremony usually consists of the General giving a few “encouraging” remarks to the class. Then I stand up and announce the names.  I may make a few remarks first.  Sometimes, I don’t.   The students walk up as I call their names off and a ranking officer and I and a guest or two congratulate the student and hand them their course certificate. The students walk up. Salute the General. Sometimes, I get a little confused. Because I feel like they are saluting me as well. So one in a while, I’ll return an awkward salute. The student is then handed their certificate and whomever the presenter is shakes their hand and congratulates them.

Everyone involved seems to really enjoy these ceremonies. The Generals get to show up and wax poetic or harass the loggie students. The students get recognition. I get a buy in to my classes and my job security. haha Our guests and other attendees get some nice cakes and cookies and some of that good old Afghan (Indian) chai. And, of course, I enjoy talking to the Generals and other Officers. I thoroughly enjoy this job. In case, anyone hasn’t caught that.

After the certificates are presented and a few more remarks by the Regional Press Officer COL Arkuni (I think), BG Ali Khan invites me to sit beside him. He offers me a cookie from the desert tray. Once I take one, that is the signal for everyone else to eat as well. It’s all so formal that it makes me laugh at times. Then we sit and chat for a bit. I didn’t realize it at the time but everyone was watching and listening to us talk. I get fairly animated in conversation as you can see in the video. Sometimes, I don’t pay attention to anything or anyone else. I tell the General that this class was our best. My favorite so far. The Officers were engaged. They actively participated. Even got heated a few times . I enjoyed the exchange even as the students attitudes towards one another sometimes confused me.
Once the General and I conclude our conversation. BG Ali Khan gives a nod and his assistant barks the room to attention and he exits.

That concludes the festivities.

This class was exceptional on many scores. At one point, LTC Khoda Daad was talking too much for one of two of our other students. Sayeed Mohammad stood up and told him that if he knows so much, he should teach the class. At first, I thought he was telling me that I was a poor teacher and that he’d rather hear LTC Daad. I finally realized that he was telling LTC Daad that I was the teacher and he should listen more and talk less. I laughed. It seems that in every class we have what I call the “question man.” This is a guy who will ask a question or two every hour. Sometimes more. When Afghans ask a question, it is extremely formal. They stand up and very respectfully state their question and it seems that it goes on and on. Usually, the question is loosely based on the class. Often, they will be asking something to the effect of how should they enact a certain policy if their commander will not enforce it or actively opposes it. This is a large and loaded question. In Afghanistan, policy quarrels can result in death. Often times, the issue is money. Active property management may keep a corrupt official from earning his extra-occupational funding for the month. An active logistician will keep money out of a corrupt officials pockets. In Afghanistan, these things are often settled in violence. It’s a hard line to follow. If the Logistics Officer is hard line, it could well result in violence against him. Is it worth the risk to life to call out your Commandhan over a policy matter. You may be staking your life, your families health or your career. I have to present the course and answer question with that in mind.

On breaks, we sat and talked politics, religion and culture. We even watched Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and Katherine McPhee videos. We talked much of Pakistan and the eastern frontier. This is the area bordering Waziristan. The no man’s land of Pakistan’s western frontier. The home of the Taliban. They asked me why the US did not declare war on Pakistan. I often times wonder tha same thing. Politics plays heavily there. War on Pakistan and destabilize a country with nuclear capabilities. Dangers. The unknown. Who knows what becomes of the region in that instance. Could be better. Could become much, much worse.

After the ceremony, the students invite us to visit them in their respective districts. Abdul Qhayooum tells me that if I visit Bala Baluk that I should be his guest in his house. I have to tell him that this is impossible as the military and my company requires that I stay on a FOB or PRT. He understands. But that doesn’t stop other students from extending the same invitation.

Afghanis are a hospitable people. It’s part of their national characteristic. This country was famous for it’s hospitality prior to the Soviet Invasion. That is why it was a primary stop on the hippy trail of the 60s and 70s. Afghanistan is a fascinating country. It has much to offer. If the insurgents and bandits would step down and accept law and order, Afghanistan could have a thriving tourism industry. Trekking in the mountains. The history of this country extends from pre-Alexandrian Bactria to the time and conquests of Alexander to the Genghis Khan to the Moghul Empire of India. Buddhism once thrived in the North. Zoroastrians once traveled across these lands. The whirling dervishes of Sufist Islam and the poetry of Jami, Rumi and Ansari. Herat once was a major center of culture and literacy. These lands and this people trace their history back to antiquity and beyond. Such incredible adventures that could be played out in the dramatic landscapes of this country.

HABIBI

HABIBI

If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
…and the feel of your heart beating with mine…
Knowing that I could never find that feeling
with anyone other than you.

Riffing on the NCAA and the NBA Age Restriction

http://hereticdhammasangha.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/nbapa.jpg?w=300

Why should one go to college?

Is it for the college experience? I’d say that’s the immature reason to go to college.

The reason that folks go to college or any school is to get training or a degree or some type of higher learning to prepare them for some kind of profession.

Basketball is a profession. Sure, it’s a short lived profession.

Nevertheless, it is a profession.

The NCAA should start treating it as such.

Students of the game should be allowed to maximize their instruction time. They should be allowed to learn their chosen profession.

Instead, the NCAA limits instruction in their chosen profession.

It would be like MIT telling mathematics or comp science/programming students that they can only dedicate certain periods/times to the study of mathematics or quantum physics or programming.

It’s all asinine.

If a kid, regardless of his financial situation, can go straight to the NBA out of HS, then they should be allowed to do so.

Kids can go straight to work for Humana or Google or Microsoft out of HS and make a 6 figure salary.

What’s the difference….????

Some kids need a couple more years.

That is where the NBA and the NCAA sit down and make some common sense rules.

A kid makes himself available for the draft. If he is drafted, his pay is deferred until he is evaluated. If he passes muster in the summer league, he stays. If not or if he goes undrafted, he goes back to college. Patrick Patterson could have benefitted from such an eval period. Orton would have. Meeks would have. Many players each year would benefit.

The Summer League and the Draft Process should be treated as an internship.

Legal Students do it. Damn near every other type of student does it.

The only reason that Collegiate Athletes in the Major Sports are given short shrift on this is so that the NCAA can call itself “amateur” and get a tax break. It’s all about the money. It has nothing to do with protecting the game, the sanctity of college sports or the fabled student athlete.

A program of instruction should be developed around each sport. Sports Management type academic program.

It’s not coddling the kids, it’s being realistic.

The way it is now, it’s a colossal waste of time for everyone involved.

While the owners want to do away with the soft salary cap and guaranteed contracts, the players hope to end the age restriction that forbids players from entering the NBA directly out of high school.

“We want to go back to the way it was,” a source from the National Basketball Players Association said. “The players have always been philosophically opposed to it. The vast majority of players feel a player should have the right to make a living. If he has the talent and wants to make money to help his family, he should have that right. It’s just a matter of principle.”

If you read this, let me know what you think?

Cajun Economics

A lesson in Cajun Economics; one simple lesson and you’ve got it!!!!  Read on…

It’s a slow day in Mamou, Louisiana. The sun is beating down, and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

On this particular day a traveling Shreveport salesman is driving through town.  He stops at the Hotel Cazan and lays a $100 bill on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one in which to spend the night.

As soon as the man walks upstairs, Bosco, the owner, grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to Boudreaux the butcher.

Boudreaux takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to Trosclair the pig farmer.

Trosclair takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill at T-Boy’s Farmers Co-op, the local supplier of feed and fuel.

T-Boy at the Farmer’s Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute,  Clarise, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her “services” on credit.

Clarise rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with Bosco, the hotel owner.

Bosco then places the $100 back on the counter so the traveling salesman will not suspect anything.

At that moment the salesman comes down the stairs, picks up the $100 bill, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town.

No one produced anything.

No one earned anything.

However, the whole town is now out of debt and now looks to the future with a lot more optimism.

And that, my friend, is how the United States Government is conducting business today.

That came in an email. Not my creation.

Sorrow and Joy

http://www.nicomclane.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/comedy-tragedy-theatre.jpg

On Joy and Sorrow
Kahlil Gibran

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.
And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.
And how else can it be?
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter’s oven?
And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives?
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

Some of you say, “Joy is greater thar sorrow,” and others say, “Nay, sorrow is the greater.”
But I say unto you, they are inseparable.
Together they come, and when one sits, alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed.

Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy.
Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced.
When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

The Irish and PriceWaterhouseCooper Must Be Retarded

This has got to be the dumbest scandal in the history of dumb scandals.

Having met a few “holier than thou” Leftist PC from Hell Irish Dudes here in Bangkok, though, I can understand how this is an issue on the Emerald Isle.

Bunch of freakin’ panty wastes!!!!

Accounting giant PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) is mired in scandal after a group of 17 male employees in Dublin started forwarding around a “top 10″ list of their picks for the most attractive female employees in the office. We have it.

The frat boy behavior of 17 Irish PWC employees is quickly becoming an international incident. The company has already launched an investigation after the email was forwarded all over Ireland, and made its way into the newspapers there today:

“We are taking this matter extremely seriously and are launching a full investigation. We will take all necessary steps and actions in line with our firm’s polices and procedures,” PWC’s human resources partner Carmel O’Connor said last night.

Accounting trade magazines have picked up the story; once it hits the British tabloids, it’ll certainly be a PR nightmare for PWC—which has 2,000 employees in Ireland, and 160,000 worldwide. It’s already circulated widely in the Irish corporate world, and the media there has seen it, but no news outlet has published it yet.

Judge for yourself. (Don’t get all exercised; there’s nothing pornographic, it’s standard company photos and titles.) Perhaps this will serve as a warning to office-working dudes across the corporate world: Don’t do this.

They need an investigation?  Why?  Gather the morons together.  Smack them on the wrist with unpaid time off and put it to rest.  The biggest crime here is that it’s a top ten list with 13 gals on it.

AND IT’S AN ACCOUNTING FIRM!!!

P.S.  I’ve met a few cool Irish dudes as well.  So don’t get your panties in a wad.

On Religious Tolerance and Acceptance

Muslims can be tolerant and Muslims can avoid hostility towards others. To do so, they must disregard whole passages in their Qu’ran.

The same is true of Christians and Christianity.

Both are world devouring religions. Anyone who denies this is denying the message of their religion. Both religions teach that they are the true religion and that all others are false. There is no tolerance in that dogma. Both preach that unbelievers, heretics and infidels are going to hell. Both agree that homosexuality is an abomination. Both are patriarchal versions on life that preach that the man is the leader of the household. Both call the other and all others false.

The ultimate goal of both religions is the conversion/reversion of all of the peoples of the world. Both have tried to convert by force of Arms. One is attempting to do so today.

I know this will offend the Islamophiles and Christians on this board. If you are honest with yourself, you will admit the truth of it, though.

There is simply no room for tolerance in either religion for true believers. For those who pick and choose what they wish from the religions, tolerance and the better form acceptance is possible. For those who take a literal view, tolerance is only a stop gap. Acceptance is impossible.

Therefore, in the end, neither religion can truly tolerate the other or any other. All of this talk of tolerance and acceptance is merely chimerical voodoo. It merely delays the inevitable conflict.

America preaches freedom of religion. We practice it as well. For the most part. Reality on the ground is that all are free to practice their religion of choice in America. Practitioners are not free from criticism. Neither are they free from attack. Physical, spiritual or otherwise.

One is free to choose. Free to practice. Free to preach.

This freedom is only possible in the West. In the lands occupied by Islam, this is not possible. Islam prohibits this. Islam prohibits proselytizing of other faiths. Islam severely restricts the practice of other religions. Muslims scream to the high heavens about tolerance in the West. In the East/Occupied Lands, they speak not of tolerance. They act as if it is the natural order that no other be allowed to freely preach their religion or seek converts. Even in the most Western or least Islamically dogmatic countries such as Egypt and Turkey, seeking converts is problematic. One’s life is at risk.

Yet, Muslims and in some cases the same Muslims who would react violently to Christians proselytyzing in Muslim lands come to America and abuse our freedoms in order to seek converts (reverts) to their religion.

When do we start to hold them to account for their actions. They come here and are allowed to build their Mosques and bristle at any criticism and any challenge to their aggressive campaigns against other religions. Then they go home and act in the exact opposite manner that they expect Westerners to act towards them in the West.

Eventually, the two systems must clash.

Either that or Christianity lays down and Islam becomes the dominant religion on the planet.

What happens then?

Is an Islamic America still America or is it simply another Muslim Occupancy wherein Sharia becomes the law of the land?

Imagine a majority Muslim America. How long do the freedoms and liberty last?

On the other hand, imagine a truly Christian America. How long til freedoms are reversed. Christians led by the Republican Party wish to add religious laws to our legal code. They wish to make homosexuality a legal abomination. They wish to reverse divorce laws. There is much, much more that Christians speak to when they are amongst themselves.

Both of these patriarchal religions are intolerant and un-accepting of any other order. Both wish to re-make the world in their chosen religions image.

That! I find dangerous and offensive.

Christians at this moment use the systems in place to further their agenda. Muslims are beginning to do so. Muslims are a minority in America for the foreseeable future. And thank the Gods this is so. I’ve lived and traveled in Muslim lands. I can tell you for certain that not many of you would be comfortable in these places.

Neither would I be comfortable in a truly Christian land.

I am comfortable in America. For now. If the Right gets it’s way, there may come a day when America becomes unpalatable to me.

That day is not yet here. Thankfully, the radical Christians are peaceable for the most part and are willing to use the systems in place to further their agenda.

There are no true Christian lands. There are only lands wherein Christians live. Such has not always been the case. I would say that I hope this trend never reverses itself.

As well, I hope that Islam does not make any further advances. That includes Israel.

Every land wherein Islam is the power is a backward place. I’ve been to most of them. There is a reason for this and it isn’t Colonization by Western powers. The backwardness of these provinces of man are the reason that they were so easily colonized.

Islam is a danger. It’s not the danger that is preached by the Homeland Security types. It may come to pass that is becomes that great a danger. This is why I am against any Wahhabi mosque being established in America. Wahhabism is the greatest evil of all time. And it is not a new evil. It is a yoke on the spirit and free will of mankind. It is violent. It carries with it death.

IT is worth fighting on all fronts. It is worth laying aside tolerance and acceptance and becoming intolerant and unaccepting. Wahhabism should never be allowed on our shores.

It is too late for this as in our weakness and folly, we have allowed it to reach our shores.

The backlash that could occur here is dangerous. People could flee to Christianity and become rigid. Freedoms could be lost in our search for security against the very danger that we invited in to our home.

Think hard about these things.

The threat is there. It is looming. It very well may bring us down.

Rome did not think she would fall to the Barbarians. Britain laughed at the Colonists as well as at Gandhi. The Holy Roman Empire and the Christian Kingdoms of Europe laughed once at Islam.  The Roman Pagans once laughed at and persecuted Christians.

We are there again.

Laugh at your peril. Dismiss the danger at your peril.
