Wait for it. Wait for it. BOOM!!!
Lacey Mosley almost floors you with the power and emotion that she pours into her music.
This is Flyleaf. Listen closely to the lyrics. This is Christian Rock. Listen closely to the lyrics of All Around Me and Fully Alive, you’ll notice it. This is a rockin’ band with a pretty good message. Even an atheist can rock to these tunes. As long as they’re open minded. The lead singer is Lacey Mosley. The little gal in the video with the powerful voice. Her songs are all about adversity. Suffering. Overcoming. The hardships of life. And the human ability to hope and feel love. For her, she draws strength from her relationship with Christ. I can’t argue with that as I believe that it’s her choice. Her experiences led her to that spiritual medium. It works for her. Good for her. I hope it continues to work for her.
Flyleaf is a great new band. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve heard from them so far. How many little gals like this one can put such strength and emotion and rage into their music. This gal rocks!
I love this group. I know. It’s a far cry from Sni Bong and Dengue Fever. lol It all works for me.
“I’m So Sick”
I will break into your thoughts
With what’s written on my heart
I will break, break
I’m so sick,
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss,
Selfishness
I’m so sick
I’m so sick
If you want more of this
We can push out, sell out, die out
So you’ll shut up
And stay sleeping
With my screaming in your itching ears
I’m so sick,
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss,
Selfishness
I’m so sick
I’m so sick
Hear it, I’m screaming it
You’re heeding to it now
Hear it! I’m screaming it!
You tremble at this sound
You sink into my clothes
And this invasion
Makes me feel
Worthless, hopeless, sick
I’m so sick,
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss,
Selfishness
I’m so sick
I’m so sick
I’m so sick
Infected with where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I’m so
I’m so sick
I’m so
I’m so sick
“All Around Me”
My hands are searching for you
My arms are outstretched towards you
I feel you on my fingertips
My tongue dances behind my lips for you
This fire rising through my being
Burning I’m not used to seeing you
I’m alive, I’m alive
I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I’m breathing
Holding on to what I’m feeling
Savoring this heart that’s healing
My hands float up above me
And you whisper you love me
And I begin to fade
Into our secret place
The music makes me sway
The angels singing say we are alone with you
I am alone and they are too with you
I’m alive, I’m alive
I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I’m breathing
Holding on to what I’m feeling
Savoring this heart that’s healing
And so I cry
The light is white
And I see you
I’m alive, I’m alive, I’m alive
I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I’m breathing
Holding on to what I’m feeling
Savoring this heart that’s healing
Take my hand
I give it to you
Now you own me
All I am
You said you would never leave me
I believe you
I believe
I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I’m breathing
Holding on to what I’m feeling
Savoring this heart that’s healed

Yeah, I like them, I’ve had them in my ipod for a while now, must admit I never paid any attention to the lyrics, but then I rarely do.
My audio forces me to just fill in the blanks, but enough to get the general idea that this is different. I’m thinking her message is coming at things in real world way. What a relief…lol
Sending this on to Rohner, the scholar of metal. I’m curious to learn his take on Flyleaf.
I think the instrumentation is pretty classic, and I admire her vocal style.
You gotta listen to All Around Me, Fully Alive and Cassie. The whole album is excellent. And the videos are good as well.
Thanks for posting the lyrics, heretic. I like the words to the second song.
This album definitely stands out. I’ve never heard anything like it. And Lacey, let me not get started on her. WOW. Kudos to her for amazing vocals, extreme cuteness and for keepin’ it real with her feelings, her values and her faith. Not many people do this now a days and when they do is always about negative things. It was about time someone like this came out with a positive message and aside from that, actually musically skilled.
Flyleaf is my favorite Christian band. They are awesome. Did you know they’re offering extra music if you pre-order their CD through i-Tunes? So cool. Check it out:
